First Setup of Instance

Acentrik’s Instance Management Portal enables administrators of the whitelabel data exchange platform to effectively oversee various aspects of the marketplace. This includes managing groups, configuring marketplace settings, and monitoring connected edge nodes.

Initial Setup of Instance

As an Instance Administrator (Instance Admin), your decisions on the initial configuration are crucial in ensuring the instance achieves its intended results. It is essential to get the settings right from the first setup.

After receiving an email invite to set up the instance, the Instance Admin will need to complete the following steps:

  • Setting up the initial Instance Admin account: the first admin account for the instance.
  • Configuring the first group/group that will act as a placeholder for the instance settings:
    • Decide whether the instance will sponsor gas and use Group Wallet (shared wallets).
    • Decide whether the instance will use SSO.
  • Configuring the instance edge node.

These are all the mandatory steps before releasing your marketplace instance to the end-users. The optional steps such as theming, etc., will be covered in their respective sections.

Set up the Initial Instance Admin Account

To set up the initial Instance Admin account:

  1. As the Instance Admin, you will receive an email notification that your instance is ready to be configured.
  2. Set up your account password.
  3. You can then start logging in to the Instance Management Portal.

Note: If you requested to use a custom domain (not *acentrik.io), provide the requested information necessary to complete the domain setup.

Configure the Instance-level Settings Using the First group/Group as Placeholder

In this step, you have to decide whether the instance will sponsor gas and use Group Wallet (shared wallets). If enabled, all users of the instance will enjoy gas-free transactions in the marketplace. This also means that the smart account shared wallets are programmatically created for each group setup.

The Instance Admin also has to decide whether to use the local authentication mechanism or use their existing Single Sign-On (SSO) identity provider.

To configure the instance settings using the first group/Group as a placeholder:

  1. Click on the ‘Groups’ tab from the left panel.
  2. Click on the ‘Create Instance Group’ button located at the top right corner of the page.
  3. Key in the relevant information for your group.
  4. To enable SSO for all the users of the instance, select ‘Enable’ under ‘SSO Login for Users’; otherwise, keep it as ‘Disable’.
  5. To sponsor gas and use Group Wallet for the entire instance, select ‘Enable’ under ‘Abstract for Group Users’; otherwise, keep it as ‘Disable’.
  6. Click on ‘Create & Invite’.

To complete the setup, refer to the following sections: For Group Administrators > First Setup

Configure the Instance Edge Node

Once set up, an Instance Edge Node is made public to all permissioned Data Providers of the marketplace. It is mandatory to configure an instance edge node as a form of instance-level encryption to ensure that all metadata published in the marketplace is viewable only within the instance.
